ABOUT US
Venturing into photography at the tender age of 14, Philip gained employment with Sportsfile - one of Ireland's biggest sports and public relations photo agencies; initially employed as a junior darkroom printer, Philip soon found himself photographing major sports events worldwide at the age of 15.
"Having my pictures published worldwide from sporting and PR events was for me the most thrilling part of working for the agencies, the covers of some of the magazines and books still take place in my portfolio".
After working there for over 4 years Philip went freelance for a number of years, and also began photographing weddings, covering about 10 to 5 weddings per year.
At the age of 21 Philip, like a lot of people of his age, emigrated to America, where he based himself in New York City and worked as a freelance assistant to some of America's top fashion and commercial photographers, including Bob Barclay and Titus Kana, where he gained valuable insight into lighting and studio work as well as meeting many of the world's top models.
Having travelled extensively throughout America, Philip returned to Ireland; on his return he decided that it was important to learn the skills of printing in colour.
"Having spent so much time learning the skills of printing black and white photographs, I was always disappointed with the prints that were returned to me from colour labs".
Philip went on to gain employment in one of Ireland's top colour laboratories.
Having spent a total of over 23 years in photography, these are some of the skills that Philip combines to produce your wedding album that he has become well-known for.
